The muscles in your lower body provide the solid foundation we need to stay mobile as we age and prevent any unexpected falls. However, it can be difficult to perform many of these exercises if you have joint pain. Never fear! We tapped our friend and contributing fitness editor, Debra Atkinson of Flipping Fifty, to show us a lower body exercise without lunges or squats.

Now we can safely work out our glutes and hammies!

All you need for this lower body exercise without lunges or squats is an exercise ball — and maybe a yoga mat for extra comfort.
