S.E.X.Y Food Guide to Enhanced Performance

According to Dr Uma Naidoo, MD, Nutritional Psychiatrist and author of This Is Your Brain on Food here is a S.E.X.Y guide to enhanced Performance & Libido.

Spice It Up! Capsaicin, the compound found in chili peppers, is a potent libido-enhancer.

Energy enhancing chili peppers have also been shown to increase sexual desire and testosterone levels in men. They have been used for centuries as libido & performance enhancers. I use it for soups, stews and pretty much most of my hot meals.

A sprinkle of spice on your dish might spice up your sex life too! Add it to roasted veggies, a soup, stew or curry.

EAT The Avo!

Rich in Omega 3 fatty acids, fiber and magnesium, avocados are mood-boosting foods and are one of the richest dietary sources of boron which is vital for the production of sexual hormones. I add it to my salads, as a side for meals, mashed up for guacamole for dipping celery sticks, or as a simple mood-boosting snack. My libido-enhacing tip?

Cut a quarter piece of a ripe medium size avocado, add some sea salt and chilli flakes, and enjoy!

X-tra Extra Extra Dark Chocolate!

This commonly known aphrodisiac, rich in magnesium, serotonin and antioxidants, stimulates dopamine in the brain which in turn increases oxytocin production (known as the bonding hormone). Oxytocin increases sexual arousal and contributes to pleasure. The darker, the better! Always look for the word cacao on the label (80% minimum) and no added sugars.

A couple of pieces a day is the ideal dessert or the perfect 4pm mood-boosting snack.

Yummy Pistachios!

Add some crushed raw pistachios on your dark chocolate dessert or eat a ¼ cup as a simple snack as these nuts have been shown to increase erectile function and enhance sexual desire, arousal, lubrication and satisfaction.
