After working in the macro dieting world for years we’ve heard it all, but every time our coaching staff hears, “I just don’t eat as healthy when I count macros…” we collectively send each other eye roll GIFS.
Here’s the thing. Yes, food freedom is a gift that we love to give our clients. In fact, 80% of our clients begin our program in a diet reverse; seeing results while eating MORE calories than they ever have. But squandering all your macros without remembering your vegetables is like getting a raise at work and forgetting to pay your power bill. Autonomy with your food budget and your money budget is a wonderful thing, but you’ve got to spend responsibility if you want to see long term success!
6 Creative Ways to Sneak Veggies into your Macros
- Add a side salad to your meals. Use a macro friendly dressing like Bolthouse Farms if you’re looking to save on fat macros.
- Roast Vegetables to add into your meals throughout the week.
- Pack raw vegetables for an on the go quick snack.
- Sneak vegetables into your soups/sauces.
- Make green smoothies
- Grill Veggie Kebabs
Remember, it’s not quantity VS. quality – it’s not one or the other. The magic happens when you COMBINE quality and quantity so you can look and feel your best.
The macros on most vegetables are almost nothing! Take advantage of these great micronutrient dense foods and watch your body reap the benefits.
