Oxygen Magazine Review

Training masks are pretty cool in general. The idea behind the mask training technique is when oxygen is restricted, when breathing through the mask, your heart and lungs have to work slightly harder. So when you take the mask off, your body's respiratory and cardiovascular systems are stronger, ready to better utilize available oxygen, resulting in improved athletic performance.

Masks were originally marketed for altitude-prep, but now have become more mainstream. Upon opening the box, the Training Mask 3.0 looked impressive. All black, sleek design, high-quality materials and the mask itself looks really durable.

Our expert's first venture out was a run. Along with a hint of claustrophobia and a few odd looks from passersby, the mask was comfortable and stayed in place for the most part during a high-impact workout. The next workout consisted of a hike, which was more enjoyable with the mask, partly because the workout was lower intensity, of course! The third trial workout was a weight-training and agility session consisting of plyometric and jump rope intervals. The mask definitely made this workout far more challenging.

The Training Mask 3.0 is well-designed for increasing workout intensity without major distraction. Our expert spent most of her workouts at the 3x setting, with a few trial intervals at 0x and 6x. The mask technique was interesting to explore, and she can see how regular use of a high-quality product like Training Mask can easily improve overall performance and strengthen cardio power.

Oxygen Elite Ambassador Reviews

"I’m always looking for tools to get better at Spartan racing and the Training Mask 3.0 is a true game-changer. A few years ago, I started using training masks but I found that many of them had awkward fits or made it too hard to breathe. What I really like about the Training Mask 3.0 is that the mask is comfortable and fits nicely so I don’t need to adjust it — I actually forget them I’m even wearing it, which really makes a difference to me.

Another big difference the Training Mask 3.0 offers that others do not is the custom face-plate. By being able to adjust the intensity, I can adjust my airflow to how I feel. Being able to adjust the mask when I'm breathing hard is really nice and it allows me to wear it while I run, cycle, lift and do obstacle training. The Training Mask 3.0 is a tool I will continue to use for training and will use with my clients for better breathing and performance!"

"When I first saw the Training Mask 3.0 I honestly thought 'not another heavy, bulky expensive breathing mask' that I'd use once and then toss in my closet — never to use it again. So my expectations were not high.

The training mask ended up being light-weight, compact and easy to store in my gym bag. The mask fit nice and snug, comfortable with a removable washable strap. After 10 minutes of working out with it on, I forgot I was even wearing it. The mask is easy to adjust intensity and air flow with a simple flick of a small switch. This mask doubled the intensity of my workout, making me reach my threshold of exhaustion in half the time it would normally take when doing cardio. This mask can be a game-changer for the athlete, fitness fanatic, or just someone who wants to increase their cardiovascular strength to the next level. I highly recommend the Training Mask 3.0 for anyone that wants to take their training to the next level."
